WhoopS!!!

I forgot totally about this blog. Loads has happened since the last entry. Fotopic is no more, it's been replaced by www.mapgrouproadtransport.co.uk and the e-bay sets have finished. Still taking lorry and bus photos and still adding them to the new site. The HGV photo CD's will be reappearing again soon too.

Currently bringing the new site up to speed with as many hauliers and bus companies as possible before my holiday next week.

WEDNESDAY 5th NOVEMBER

After a short break, collections are now reappearing on fotopic. The lorry site is being updated and a new gallery www.londontransportbuses.fotopic.net has been set up to show photos of former LT buses.
The CD for the M1 at Woodall is now on e-bay and one for the A14 near Huntingdon should appear by the end of the week. Several company collections are now also on e-bay.
Due to the miserable weather, as yet no further photo trips are planned until the weekend, but lorry, bus & train photo trips are all in the pipeline when the sun reappears, or at least the cloudbase lifts a little!

WEDNESDAY 22nd OCTOBER

Bit late in posting this, but spent the day at Barnetby & Brocklesby getting train photos. Caught the 20's on the leaf sprayer and the usual 60's & 66's of EWS, GBRF and Freightliner. Due to family commitments there won't be any more big photo bashes until the end of the week.

TUESDAY 21st OCTOBER

More lorry photos today, this time on the M1 at Woodall and Barlborough, to the east of Sheffield. Over 1000 taken, so will take a few days to filter through, although Exel, Billy Bowie & Morrisons sets are on e-bay tonight. Photo CD will appear early next week. Plenty of 58 regs, including Robert Burns and Morrisons and even an Eddie Stobart in the old livery, 1 of only 18 left on the road.
It is unlikely that any more hauliers will appear on fotopic until next week due to other commitments.

SUNDAY 19th OCTOBER

Yesterday (saturday) took a trip around North Lincolnshire to the following hauliers - ECM, Neil C Dowson, McCann European Transport, Immingham Transport, Somerscales, N Magor, ABC (Grimsby) Ltd, S J Barrick, Caistor Distribution & BB Haulage. Sets for some of these will be on e-bay on monday evening.

Hauliers added to fotopic tonight are A W Jenkinson, Star Transport, Booker Wholesale, Musgrave Transport, Sheffield Insulations & Wolesley on the lorry site and Wolter Koops, H & S Transport, HSF Logistics & Vos Logistics to the international hauliers site. De Rijke and Den Hartogh have been moved from the UK lorry site to the International lorry site.

Thursday 16th October

Lorry photos taken at my usual spot on the M180 at Wrawby between Barnetby & Brigg in North Lincolnshire. Over 700 taken which should begin to appear on fotopic over the weekend and on e-bay this evening (friday). Highlights include 58 regs for Firbrook, Britannia Freight, Blue Spot Rental, Asda Fuel, Barnes & Tipping, Warburtons, Brit European, NFT Distribution, Gordon Leslie, Benton Brothers and Isotank.

The motorway to and from Immingham & Grimsby is a great place for variety. Seen on thursday were vehicles from Scotland - Wick (D Steven), Wigtown (Neil Cluckie) and Glasgow (Gordon Leslie), as well as Devon - South Molton (M Way) and Exeter (Parsons) and even Wales - Caernarfon (Gleneagle Furniture) and New Quay (I & S Davies).

Why the Blog?

Basically the blog is designed to be used alongside my fotopic sites and Ebay auctions. It will detail where I have been, what I have seen and what is new or updated. It will include all three major forms of transport that I photograph - Haulage, PSV and Train and hopefully will be informative and helpful to anyone interested in road or rail transport photos.
